The leaders of Cub Scout Pack 171 are committed to

providing boys an effective educational program

designed to build desirable qualities of character; to

train in the responsibilities of citizenship; and to

develop personal fitness.

All Cub Scouts and Scout Volunteers recite the following

Cub Scout Promise at monthly Pack Meetings:

To do my duty to God and my Country,

To help other people, and

To obey the Law of the Pack

One of the things that a new Cub Scout learns is the following

Law of the Pack, which simply outlines the Cub Scout's, and his

family's, responsibilities:

The Cub Scout follows Akela (leader).

The Cub Scout helps the Pack go.

The Pack helps the Cub Scout grow.

The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

Cub Scout Pack 171 is a member of the Keystone Area Council of

the Boy Scouts of America. Special thanks to the staff and members

of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs, PA, for the use of their facilities in support of Scouting.
